It seems like Sweden got themselves a new studio. It is called TTK Games and are said to work on a new generation of online shooters. Who could have guessed with a name like that, right? Yes, I can hear you sigh the same way I did. And rightfully so, I might add. I mean, when was the last time you got excited about a online shooter? The last, and dare I say only thing, that made me somewhat excited was the build and inventory system in Escape from Tarkov. I spent more time in that Tetris-like environment than I did getting my head blown off by butt-wiggling cheaters. So I really hope that TTK Games can deliver. If not, I might have to renounce my Swedish citizenship.
Between fantasy and reality
I would not say that GRIME is the most innovative of games either. But it is one of few, if not the only, platform game that can give you that Souls-like experience. And that experience is about to get an extension called Tinge of Terror on June 7, 2023. Now, I am not important enough to get access to the trailer and much less the DLC before release. So I have to wait for the MIX event like everyone else.
MIX event, I hear you ask. Yes, I told you last week that this week would be packed to the brim with games and other miscellaneous news. There is even a Guerrilla Collective tie-in with the MIX event that will start on June 7, 2023. One of the games in their playlist is Iron Meat by Retroware. Do not tell anyone I told you so, but you can try the Iron Meat demo for yourself before the Guerrilla Collective showcase. You might even want to give the unrelated Legendary Hoplite demo a try while you are at it.
On the subject of staying quiet. I have two games in my royal tophat that I will talk about next week. At least I hope so. Yes, it seems like I have gotten myself into a time-related pickle, and it does not help that there are fourteen other known events coming up in June. I tell you, the event business is getting out of hand the same way the number of released games are. I mean, how are anyone to get seen or heard if everyone screams from the rooftop at the same time all the time? And I ask that while joining the rooftop choir to tell you to take a look at the highlights of week 21.

The architect and his calendar
As I said, I have my hands full. Not only with upcoming events and games I am not allowed to talk about but also games and DLCs previously released. One of those games is Kingdoms Reborn, or more specifically, the Land of the Rising Sun update that introduced a new Japanese faction called The Shogunates. In addition to this, I am also trying to find time for the game Blockville which was released in early access the same day. There are even reviews and previews I had to rewrite and delay for reasons that are out of my control. The joys of time constraints and broken games, right?
I am not going to look, but if I did, it would not surprise me if it turns out that I spend more time in my calendar moving posts around than I spend time on getting things done. And at this rate, Matty Rasker might very well get his Stasis: Bone Totem review out the door before I find a way out of my maze-like calendar. Whatever comes first, there will be content for you to enjoy.
Until next time, take care, and goodbye!
