I will forego my usual spiel this week and just bring out the big guns and body slam the elephant in the room. OK, I am not doing much of any slamming, and the only one dropping anything is, Wickworks, the studio behind the successful Kickstarter campaign for Lancer Tactics. No, I am not talking about them dropping a new campaign. I am talking about them dropping numbers with the ongoing campaign. I say ongoing. The fact is, it ends in 5 hours at the time of writing this.
Keep in mind that this is an estimate as I have to convert from Swedish krona and the fact the counter is still going. With that said. They started the campaign asking for $20000 and are now close to breaking $190000 with more than 4500 backers. The last campaign I saw reach a similar success was Mask of the Rose by Failbetter Games, which is scheduled for release on June 8th, 2023.
Now, I would go as far as to say that the latter was more of a success as that game is a visual novel, whereas Lancer Tactics is a TTRPG. I mean, when did you hear about another visual novel reach that level of monetary success? Whatever the case may be, Lancer Tactics and Mask of the Rose are not the only games we are talking about or taking a look at today. Yes, you guessed it, it is time for the highlights of week 13!

Friends and foes
This might be the end of the list. But it is not the end of news coming out of the games industry. Far from it. Between successful Kickstarter campaigns and weekly highlights we saw some miscellaneous announcements and major updates released as well. I will leave the miscellaneous announcements for another time. But I will mention one of the major updates.
The update I have in mind is for The Iron Oath by Curious Panda Games which is called Friends and Foes. Let me put it like this. The article you are reading right now has a little more than 730 words. The patch note for the Friends and Foes update has a little more than 3900 words. That should give you an idea of how big the update is.
